STAGES supports a process-based approach to performing arts education – but we also realize the importance of providing kids with meaningful performance experiences when they are ready. Our production-based classes and camps provide these opportunities for our students to take their classroom/rehearsal work and see it through to an exciting performance before a live audience.

Each STAGES production is designed as part of a regular STAGES class or camp experience. Our rehearsals are more than just meetings to get together and run lines – they are extensions of our regular studio-based educational programs.  Here’s just some of what you can expect from a unique STAGES production experience:

• A completely KID-FOCUSED production, with all cast roles being filled by STAGES students ages 8-18. 
• Age-appropriate material –  “junior” or “school” editions of Broadway Musicals, plays based on classic works of literature for young people,  and other material that is appropriate for the ages of the students involved.
• A talented production team made up of qualified STAGES instructors and consultants who are enthusiastic about working with KIDS. 
• An average of 40 to 60 hours of energizing and exciting rehearsal-classes for each student.  Rehearsals include both the practicing of show material, and additional training in various theatre disciplines for all students.
• A firm commitment from STAGES to NEVER waste the precious time of our students and their families. We begin and end all rehearsals on time.  If some students require additional one on one guidance, we will have early releases or nights off for the rest of the cast.  No cast members will spend entire rehearsals standing idly by.
• Special guests during the rehearsal process – this list could include vocal coaches, choreographers, stage combat consultants, dialect coaches, make-up designers… you name it … if there is an opportunity to bring special instructors in to work with our students, STAGES will make it happen.
• A top-notch, high quality production experience, in an outside venue with lights, sound, costumes, sets, etc … and the commitment from STAGES to properly staff the production along the way.
